Our Services

Acupuncture Edinburgh
Acupuncture is one of the main methods of treatment in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and has been in use almost certainly for over 5000 years. Carefully chosen points on your body have incredibly thin pre-sterilised needles inserted quickly to contact what TCM calls 'Qi', the energy in your body. If you've ever had an injection, believe us this quite different - for a start nothing is injected. Read much more about acupuncture in Edinburgh by clicking here.

Bowen Edinburgh
Bowen therapy is less than a century old: developed by a genius in Australia who, having no knowledge of ordinary medicine, worked out how to help your body repair itself by doing a very gentle rolling movement over muscles. If you have Bowen therapy it is best not to combine it with most other forms of massage, physiotherapy, and other treatments. Ask us if you aren't sure. Find out more about Bowen Edinburgh by clicking here.

Homoeopathy Edinburgh
Homoeopathy, (also spelled homeopathy), stands on its own as a therapy and method of treatment quite different from almost any other. How it works challenges credulity - but we have thousands of patients (and often their pets) who would have nothing else. To find out more click here.

Cupping Edinburgh
Cupping is a method of applying a form of pressure by creating a vacuum next to the patient's skin, and is used in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) to bring a good supply of blood to the area, to stimulate the acupuncture points there, and to clear lymph and detoxify. It is often used to speed up recovery from respiratory infections - and sometimes to prevent them, like colds and bronchitis, but it's also used for arthritis, all sorts of musculoskeletal types of pain and for much more too. Read more here.

Moxibustion Edinburgh
Moxibustion is often used by acupuncturists. It consists of burning a herb (artemesia chinensis - a form of Chinese mugwort) so that its heat travels into the exact place - or point - that needs warming or energy. People love it, but it does tend to smell a bit, so nowadays we often use other methods that don't pong so much! Find more about it here.

Meditation Edinburgh
Meditation has been used for thousands of years to calm and steady the mind and enable it to see a bigger picture. The brainwaves your mind makes when meditating are very healing and by learning how to harness this energy you can often speed up your cure. Find out more by clicking here.

Quantum Health Biofeedback Edinburgh
We use the QXCI, a form of biofeedback machine that measures and analyses what is going on in your body that you probably don't know about, but which often makes sense of your condition, and may be able to treat it too. Find out more by clicking here.

Traditional Chinese Medicine Edinburgh
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is the system of medicine developed and used traditionally in China. It can often explain conditions that modern Western medicine cannot. Once it understands a condition, it can usually find a treatment for it. This treatment will involve one of the methods of treatment or therapy which the Chinese have explored and codified over thousands of years, including acupuncture, herbs, Chinese massage, diet, meditation, tai qi and much more. Read more about this here.

Nutrition Edinburgh
Get well, and shift towards your desired body weight, shape and fitness, by eating the right foods. (Alternatively, stay ill and at the wrong weight by eating foods that don't suit you - you'll be in good company.) You'd be amazed what self-healing powers your body has, given the right fuel. And very often you don't need to go on a difficult diet.

Chinese Herbal Medicine Edinburgh
Chinese herbal medicine uses herbs according to the theories of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Many years of training nowadays go into producing Chinese herbal medicine practitioners, but it derives from observations often made by people using herbs in their homes and handed down through generations as family secrets. Fundamentally 'kitchen' medicine, it is very safe. However, there are herbs which need care so we don't recommend you treat yourself.

I am registered with the British Acupuncture Council under reference number 951068.

Using therapies such as acupuncture, Chinese medicine, herbs and homeopathy, combined with good nutrition, I have helped thousands of people to get rid of pain, and shown them how to reach and maintain good health. Acupuncture and cupping are part of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and are often used in conjunction with Chinese Herbal Medicine, if appropriate, but I also do Bowen Therapy, a very gentle form of hands-on treatment quite unlike any other.

I've also trained in and practised for over 30 years various kinds of massage, such as therapeutic massage, reflexology and shiatsu.

Sometimes showing people how Meditation and the mind works can enormously increase well-being. In addition, I use biofeedback with our Quantum Health QXC1 machine when requested"
