Background
Your body carries out millions of different processes every second, ranging from slow ones like breathing, faster ones like your heartbeat, and very fast ones like the electrical 'sparks' that jump across the nerve endings (synapses) in your brain enabling your body to function correctly.
Now that you're thinking about it, you notice your breathing, and whether you're feeling hot or cold, hungry or tired. But unless it does something unusual or painful, you don't notice your heartbeat, or the chemical process going on in your digestion, or what your liver is doing, or your kidneys. Or the ongoing work to keep you healthy, being done by your immune system. (Did you know that 70% of your immune system lies along your gastro-intestinal tract, which is the tube connecting your front-end (your mouth) to your back-end?)
And you don't notice, unless they hurt, impede or imbalance you, old injuries, wounds, and the effects of past illnesses - nor the influences from old emotional scars.
Yet your body carries on, pretty well, despite all this.
Sometimes, however, you get ill and don't know why. Or you have an ongoing condition that bothers you but which modern medicine can't diagnose or cure.
What the QXCI does
The QXCI aims to measure and prioritise all the processes going on that you may be unaware of, but which are affecting your health. Over a period of a few minutes it sends tiny electrical signals into your skin and measures the responses made by your body. It then puts them in an order of probable importance which you can see on screen and have explained.
Usually some kind of underlying pattern emerges, with a whole range of factors pointing in one or a few main directions, indicating what may be going wrong and often suggesting ways to help yourself, or treatments that might be effective.
The whole process can take at least one hour and often much more, but we've only ever had one person, out of many thousands, who didn't think it worthwhile. Nearly everyone comes once and then wants another appointment a month or so later. See our testimonial page for some of the comments we've had.
What actually happens?
When you come in, we take some details, such as your name, address and so on. We don't usually ask what is concerning you, although that's fine if you want to tell us. We make sure you are comfortable, with some water to drink. Then we put some bands round your ankles and wrists, and another round your head. Each band is connected to a wire that goes into the machine. The wires are loose so that, except for a few minutes at the beginning, you can stand up, or move around a bit quite easily.
Initially we have to put in some information about you to help the machine access your condition. This information includes, for example, how many tooth fillings you have, what medications you take, how much water you drink, what kind of exercise you take, and so on.
Once the machine has adjusted itself to you, the initial test takes less than 4 minutes, during which the machine measures your response to thousands of different kinds of signals and works out your responses so that you can see them onscreen.
With you still attached to the machine, we explain what the responses mean for you, and occasionally ask the machine to investigate something more deeply. For example, it may show the influence of a virus or illness, or some kind of imbalance in your immune system.
Treatment
The machine was designed to treat you as well and tare many ways it can do this electronically. However, sometimes it makes suggestions for a treatment. For example, it might suggest a range of acupuncture points. To some extent it can mimic the effect of treating those points with acupuncture needles but usually we think an actual acupuncture treatment would be more effective.
It can assess the state of your spine and treat it, although sometimes it suggests you see an osteopath or chiropractor first, or as well.
's a range of some of the different kinds of things it can measure or affect:
- Food Sensitivities
- Nutrition Vitamin Deficiencies
- Toxicities
- Hormone Levels
- Dental Nosodes
- Viruses & Bacteria
- Organs
- Fungi & Parasites
- Environmental Factors
- EEG Brainwaves
- ECG Electro-Cardiogram
- EMG Electro-Muscular Response
- Virtual-Reality Imagery
- TMJ Analysis
- Acupuncture Meridians
Cautions
We do not use the machine on patients with pacemakers, or if they have an extreme electrical allergy, or wthe patient has had electro-shock therapy.
This is not because we think it would do harm, but because, unfortunately and increasingly, we live in an era of defensive medicine.
We do not apply the ankle, wrist or head bands over broken skin.
Appointments
If you would like an appointment, do please realise that it will take several hours the first time you come! Don't expect to be in and out within 30 minutes because in that space of time we would hardly have got started.
To make an appointment, please ring 07985-012501 or 0131-346 8186.
Treatment Cost
We charge each session on the QXC1 at £45 per half-hour, pro-rata. So if a session takes 90 minutes, it would cost £135.
Payment
We ask that you pay in cash or by cheque. We may ask for payment in advance of your attending the clinic.
